A Nation Abuzz: Belgium in Frenzy Over Clement Rumors

That’s the update from the Daily Record, citing its extensive network of international contacts and sources.

While Ibrox fans call for Clement’s dismissal, they’re now faced with the tantalizing prospect of a hefty compensation package for the Belgian tactician.

A 1-0 loss to Israel in Hungary appears to be the final straw for Domenico Tedesco, with a managerial change anticipated before the World Cup qualifiers in March.

Much like in Scotland, interest in the national team remains minimal in Belgium. Following the defeat to Israel, most fans are eagerly awaiting the resumption of club football this weekend.

Last month, a similar narrative emerged regarding the Anderlecht job, but with David Hubert appointed on October 10, Clement was never in the running.

If Clement were a genuine contender for the job, he’d need to accept a significant pay cut.

Even Roberto Martinez, with a much higher profile, earned “just” €1.2 million annually during his tenure as Belgium’s manager from August 2016 to December 2022.

With Clement’s current contract running until May 2028, it’s highly improbable that any club or national team would match his salary—especially for a manager currently sitting third in a two-horse race.
