Manchester City Receive Injury Boost as Four Players Return to Training
Manchester City have received a welcome injury boost, with Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Jack Grealish, and Manuel Akanji all returning to training.
Pep Guardiola now has more options as the international break offers a chance to turn around the team’s recent struggles.
City suffered four consecutive losses across all competitions before the international break, marking their first such run since 2005/06 and the first of Pep Guardiola’s managerial career.
The Premier League champions face a tough test this weekend, with Tottenham Hotspur visiting the Etihad, having knocked City out of the Carabao Cup in October.
However, City are nearing full strength, with De Bruyne, Grealish, Stones, and Akanji all available for selection.
Grealish and Stones missed England’s Nations League matches against Greece and the Republic of Ireland, while De Bruyne has made just four league starts due to injury struggles this season.
Phil Foden, who withdrew from the England squad due to a knock sustained against Brighton before the break, and Jeremy Doku are both in contention to face Tottenham on Saturday evening. Pep Guardiola will also be hopeful that Ruben Dias will be available, with the Portuguese centre-back yet to feature since the Carabao Cup loss at Spurs on October 30th.
When is Manchester City vs Tottenham?
Manchester City will host Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Kick-off at the Etihad is at 5:30pm GMT. The match will be broadcast live in the UK on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League, and Sky Sports Ultra HDR.
