Jay Cutler’s “I DON’T CARE!” Story Goes Viral

If you weren’t a fan of Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler, you might just change your mind after hearing this story, which paints him in a much more favorable light.

After three long years, the underground legend of Jay Cutler has finally made its way into the mainstream. For years, my friends and I have been buzzing about this incredible tale.

I’ve alluded to knowing it in previous articles, but I’ve never shared the details—until now. Here it is in all its glory:

Note: This is a re-post from 2013.

At a popular sushi restaurant in Chicago during the off-season, a guy heads to the bathroom and spots Jay Cutler, sporting a backwards hat, at the urinal. The guy takes a spot next to him and says:

“Hey, Jay, I also went to Vanderbilt; we might know some of the same people…”

But Jay interrupts him mid-sentence with a firm, “DOOOONNNNTTTTTT CAAAAAARRRREEEEEE.”

Barstool Sports interviewed Cutler, but he neither confirmed nor denied the story. He claimed he didn’t remember it, suggesting that the enthusiastic fan was probably exaggerating. Cutler maintained that he didn’t yell or scream.

I managed to find a witness to this incident, and here’s his account, which he stands by. He did mention that the yelling part is indeed exaggerated.

Regardless, I shared this story live on stage at The Laugh Factory in Chicago and on various radio stations worldwide, including CBS Radio Chicago.
